  • What is Spotify (et al.) good for?

Spotify is great for exposure to a worldwide audience. It’s not great as an income source or true fan building. Release singles to the digital world, then drive new listeners back to a self-branded website to find out who they(fans) are.

  • May The Fourth Be With You

I woke up thinking about how all water in the ocean is being held down by gravity and how it’s a true miracle we just don’t go shooting off the planet into space. Life is good.  I appreciate everything and everyone around me.  The more positive I become, the more positive situations occur. The more […]

  • Behind the scenes: Gigable Showcase at Woodstock Opera House

We had an amazing night hosting our first show in the Americana series. All three bands knocked it out of the park and the crowd showed lots of love. The production staff at Woodstock Opera House are top notch and we look forward to working with them on many more shows. Here’s some behind the […]

  • Artist of the week – Toad The Wet Sprocket

Artist of the week – Toad The Wet Sprocket

What’s in a band name?  According to Glen Phillips (lead singer) it was “a joke that went on too long” and they had to adopt the name by default. “Toad The Wet Sprocket” originated from a Monty Python skit and the guys thought it would be a hilarious temporary name until they came up with […]

  • Artist of the week – Greg Holden

Artist of the week – Greg Holden

What do Phillip Phillips and Greg Holden have in common?  “Home” – the song made famous by Phillips was written by Greg Holden. Greg is an incredible singer/performer in his own right.  I found Holden when I suspected the Phillips didn’t write “Home.” The song this week is called “She’s Got Something” and it’s recorded […]

  • Artist of the week – Noah Gundersen

Artist of the week – Noah Gundersen

I like Noah.  When I started to research him, I wondered where he was from and he included “Seattle, Washington” in the header of his website.  He knew I would want to know. His new single “Ledges” is one of those tunes that instantly resonated.  Great lyrics, very cool vibe, mature songwriting. Send me an […]

  • Artist of the week – Joe Bonamassa

Artist of the week – Joe Bonamassa

Scotty Crosby turned me on to Joe Bonamassa a few years back (thanks Scotty!) Joe is an amazing guitar virtuoso and has killer live shows. The song of the week is called “I Know Where I Belong” and is a live recording from a recent show. If you like hard rockin’ blues, you will love […]

  • Artist of the week – Shovels & Rope

Artist of the week – Shovels & Rope

I first saw these two in a video somewhere and thought they were weird. Maybe they are, but their music is quite captivating.  This week’s song is called “Birmingham” and it’s pretty sparse (as is most of their music) but very engaging. Sign-up for the Artist Spotlight to get the MP3. (Blue button to the […]
