“Live music capital of the world”, which seems a tad hyped. Great live music scene for sure, but it’s not Nashville. Ten times better than the Chicago suburbs, if not for only the music selection.

Chicago proper has a much bigger live music scene than Austin. Even Beale St. in Memphis, TN. has a lot to offer for live music at 7pm every day. In fact, the duo I saw at 6pm at the Green Ghost was a great show.

Pro tip: don’t park on the streets near 6th at night. The city of Austin has a random towing scam going that will cost you $267 to get your car back from a lot 30 minutes away.
